FTSE MIB gives up gains
The euro has brushed aside comments from Five-Star founder Grillo supporting a referendum on the euro. The Italian stock market, however, has taken note and is now slightly lower on the day from +0.4% before the comments.
I don't think this is anything to worry about. In poll after poll, Italian support for the euro is overwhelming. You could say the same thing about Brexit but the euro is something much more tangible and I don't see any reason why Italian leaders would want to put this to voters.
