According to a report by Repubblica
The prior government had the 2018 deficit forecast at 1.6% of GDP and if I recall correctly, they had 2019 pinned above 2%. So, this is a welcome development surely. No official word as of yet, but it doesn't look like the new government is taking drastic measures when it comes to public deficit just yet.
