Iran's OPEC governor says Trump's tweets have increased oil prices by $10

Comments by Iran OPEC governor Hossein Kazempour

  • "He must stop this method"
  • Trump is trying to stir Iran-Saudi tension
  • Calls for Trump to join talks in Vienna on Friday with other leaders

Iran also commented earlier via the Shana news agency that Trump needs to stop tweeting or it will drive oil prices higher and that it is not OPEC that is causing an increase in oil prices.

Well, since the OPEC meeting in Vienna on 22 June WTI crude prices have jumped up by more than 13% and slightly just under $10 - so yeah you be the jury on that. But this finger-pointing game is just added noise to markets really and nothing more.
