IMF chief Christine Lagarde comments in Hong Kong

- "Darker clouds are looming" due to fading fiscal stimulus, rising interest rates
- Urges governments to steer clear of all forms of protectionism
- Also urges governments to build fiscal, financial stability buffers
- Says that global uncertainties have significantly increased
The IMF is set to update its global forecast next week on 17 April. In January, the IMF forecasted global to come in at 3.9% in 2018 and 2019.
If next week's forecast remains somewhat unchanged, it'll at least keep up the facade that the global economy is still bright and rosy - in trying to fit the theme of synchronised global growth.
