Some comments by the IMF in a statement after completing its 2017 Article IV consultation
- UK GDP estimated at 1.6% this year
- UK CPI forecast at 2.6% by end of the year
- Sees UK medium-term economic growth projected to remain around 1.5% under baseline assumption of continued progress in Brexit talks
- Outlook depends crucially on the outcome of negotiations with the EU
Some general comments and adding in some forecasts in there by the IMF.
Nothing that we don't already know in the sense that Brexit is having a negative impact on the economy, and it will continue to do so as long as negotiations aren't at a conclusion - and the risk of a disorderly Brexit still lingers.
