IMF growth forecasts will be the highlight of US trading

The US economic calendar is vacant today so the market will be left adrift with stocks and flows likely to drive trading. There is some Canadian data at the bottom of the hour but it’s manufacturing data from way back in November and won’t make much difference in tomorrow’s Bank of Canada decision.

The highlight is at 9:30 am ET (1430 GMT) when the IMF releases its World Economic Outlook, which includes the latest forecasts. Last week, Lagarde indicated upward revisions to 2014 global growth and yesterday SKY reported that UK estimates will be hiked to 2.4% for this year.
