Chinese customs bureau statement posted on Friday says it will allow imports of rice from the US
Imports of brown rice

- crushed rice
from the US are now permitted as long as they meet China's inspection standards and are registered with the U.S. Department of Agriculture
While not a key sticking point, talks on this had been going on for years. Its seen as a sign of easing tensions between the two and a good omen for trade talks.
