The latest update on Hurricane Irma
Hurricane Irma is poised to hit Puerto Rico and the outer Caribbean islands hard but what happens next is impossible to say.
Increasingly, it looks like the storm is headed toward Florida. At the moment, it's a Category 3 storm with winds at 120 mph but the NHC expects it to strengthen further in the day ahead.
The current forecast is for the storm to hit Puerto Rico on Wednesday and (if it heads in that direction) to hit Florida on Friday.
