HSBC China services sector PMI 50.6 in August from 53.5 in July

The trend evident in Taiwan and HK is filtering through to the mainland. Manufacturing PMI is a more significant economic statistic and it steadied just above 50 last month, helped by domestic demand. These services figures do not augur well for domestic conditions and it may well be that we see the manufacturing PMI fall below 50 this month.
