How do you sift through all this data?

Turns out the phrase reading the tea leaves was a much more literal phrase than anyone'd thought.

If you read my guest trader series then you know that I’m a data nerd. I suspect that many of FXL’s regular commenters and lurkers are as well. Since Adam and the gang have lost their minds and passed me the mic for the next two Asia-Pacific sessions, I thought I’d run a quick and brief series of notes where we can all chime in on what data we look for but more importantly how we synthesize it into long/short positions. Or, better: how we synthesize it into straight cash money!

First, something I’m always curious about when speaking with traders. If you’re decision process is represented by 100%, how much weight do you place on a currencies fundamentals and how much on technicals?

Please include the base timeframe you trade. I assume the longer the frame, the greater weight fundamentals receives. But how much greater? Or is that not the case?

So, how do each of you find meaning in the tea leaves?
