Not much in terms of scheduled news
The economic calendar is mostly quiet to start the week. The lone release is the December construction spending report at 1500 GMT. The consensus is for a 0.2% rise after a 0.8% rise in November. The number is an important input for Q4 GDP revisions but isn't likely to be a big market mover unless it's a miss of +/- 0.5 pp.
Otherwise the big story is that China and the US are 'close' on a trade deal.
I'm sure Trump or Brexit will find a way to make trading interesting today.
