What to expect from the data release?
This is one of the more prominent data releases pertaining to the Australian economy, as it highlights consumption as well as consumer patterns.
The retail sales m/m figure is expected to fall to +0.2% from +0.6% in February. Meanwhile, the Q1 figure is expected to decline to +0.6% after posting a +0.9% reading in Q4 2017.
You can check out previews by CBA and Westpac on the data release here.
Also, just a reminder that later on in the day we'll also have the release of the Australian federal budget. That will be at 0930 GMT, so the above isn't the only key release from the land down under today!
