Germany's SPD leader Nahles on the wires
- It is unsatisfactory that there is standstill in coalition on migrant policy this week
- Not sure if headed for new elections, have to wait and see
The sombre tones that we're seeing from Germany so far isn't very suggestive of any breakthrough talks/deal on migrant policy and that is not a positive development for the euro.
Merkel is set to meet with EU leaders during the summit later tomorrow and Friday to discuss on the situation and try to reach a deal, but investors surely have to brace for the possibility that one may not come her way.
