Association of German Chamber of Industry and Commerce weighs in on trade disputes
Germany's DIHK Association is on the wires speaking to the fallout from trade disputes:
- G7 summit fiasco shows how deep political rift has become on trade, tariffs
- Escalating trade dispute creates considerable uncertainty among German companies doing business abroad
- US sanctions against Russia, Iran are additional burden on German economy
- Extra territorial US sanctions mean companies wind down operations abroad, stop efforts to develop new business
- These "irritations" are already noticeable in German trade with US
All the comments talk to Trump winning the battle and bad news for German exports. If Trump puts the squeeze on China (hard not to see that), then that too will put increasing pressure on German companies (i.e. high end autos).
