Another 962 deaths also reported, marking the deadliest day of the pandemic
The daily case count is still within the realms of what we have been seeing in recent weeks, but the death count continues to present major concerns as it comes in at nearly 1,000 again and that marks the deadliest day of the pandemic for Germany.
The figure tops the previous high of 952 deaths seen last week here.
Total deaths have now reached 27,968 persons and in terms of active cases across the country, there are roughly ~366,900 cases in total as of the latest count.
With the death count keeping on the high side, any thoughts on relaxing restrictions in the near future will be kept aside for the time being surely.
In terms of healthcare capacity, there are 5,216 (+49) coronavirus patients requiring intensive care as of yesterday with 4,768 (18%) intensive care beds still available.
