Another 1,019 deaths reported as well
The death count is the second highest since the pandemic began and continues to be a worrying statistic in Germany. The daily case count is a little higher compared to recent days and hints that the situation remains tense for the time being.
Active cases across the country is gradually reducing but keeping at a high base of ~321,300 as of today. Meanwhile, total deaths have increased to 36,537 persons.
In terms of healthcare capacity, there are 5,678 (-66) coronavirus patients requiring intensive care with there being 4,506 (18%) intensive care units still available.
