BERLIN (MNI) – German Deputy Finance Minister Steffen Kampeter said
Tuesday he does not expect European Central Bank president Mario Draghi
to tell German lawmakers anything new on Wednesday.
Draghi is scheduled to brief the members of the German
parliamentary budget, financial and European affairs committee on
Wednesday afternoon.
“I expect that Draghi will again explain the reasons for the
current action of the ECB,” Kampeter said at the sidelines of a meeting
of the German parliamentary groups here.
“This will be solely an information exchange but by no means in any
way a new positioning of the ECB,” he stressed.
