The pound is looking relatively strong compared with some of its sicker relations but be careful of what may happen in the Gilt market if there’s a hung parliament in the UK (thanks Dave). I spoke with a JGB trader yesterday who was of the opinion that the UK debt situation is worse than Spain, Portugal and Italy combined. Ouch.
