Gerard Satur's MST Capital bets on AUD
The Sydney-based fund is now betting on AUD/NZD and NZD/USD shorts, Bloomberg reports. Last year he bet against AUD/USD and said he closed out the trade in January.
Satur sees a divergence at the RBNZ and RBA.
"The RBA will only cut rates again this cycle if China has a major destabilization event," he said. "We are short the kiwi versus the US and Australian dollars -- it's our favorite short in currencies."
Satur said AUD/USD could climb to 80-cents but didn't say how far AUD/NZD could rally or how much he expected AUD/NZD to decline.
