Latest data released by INSEE - 8 January 2019

- Current account balance -€2.8 billion
- Prior -€0.7 billion; revised to -€0.3 billion
The trade deficit widens to €5.10 billion as exports declined by 4.4% on the month while imports fell by 1.8% on the month in November. That's quite a hit and could possibly be due to disruptions caused by the yellow vest protests that started in the middle of November.
We'll have to wait on further trade data to confirm whether or not that is the case. Meanwhile, EUR/USD sits at 1.1438, little changed since the start of the session. EUR/GBP now at 0.8960 a little lower after having moved to 0.8948 earlier.
