ECB president Trichet says that he is naturally committed to gradually withdraw extraordinary support measures. He says that the EU growth and stability pact (the rule that limits the size of deficits) is still extremely important.
Appearig with Trichet is EU economics czar Almunia, who says countries need to define exit strategies but that ow is not the time to apply them.
