Latest data released by Eurostat - 30 May 2018
- Economic confidence 112.5 vs 112.0 expected
- Business climate indicator 1.45 vs 1.29 expected
- Industrial confidence 6.8 vs 6.8 expected
- Services confidence 14.3 vs 14.3 expected
Economic confidence falls once again from 112.7 in the prior month. Not exactly good news even as it beats expectations. Meanwhile, services and industrial confidence also falls compared to the 14.7 and 7.3 prior figures respectively.
Relative to expectations the figures are better and/or meets estimates, so that's some relief for euro sentiment that things aren't worse than anticipated. But either way, the data is no what is going to matter a whole lot at the moment as focus is purely on sentiment in Italy.
