Italy's FTSE MIB leads
The European major stock indices are ending the session with gains:
- German DAX, of 0.6%
- France's CAC of 0.8%
- UK's FTSE of 0.5%
- Spain's Ibex of 0.6%
- Italy's FTSE MIB up 1.0%
- Portugal's PSI 20 but the trend is closing down -0.4%
In the 10 year note sector in Europe, yields are lower:
- Germany 0.593%, -4.1 basis points
- France 0.815%, -3.9 basis points
- UK 1.50%, -4.0 basis points
- Spain 1.267%, -3.6 basis points
- Italy 1.745%, -3.2 basis points
- Portugal 1.685%, -2.8 basis points
As European/London traders look to exit a snapshot of other markets is showing:
- Spot gold $-7.57 or -0.56% at $1315.66
- WTI crude oil futures are down $.22 or -0.34% at $67.82
- Bitcoin is under pressure for the 2nd day in a row. It is down $300 at $8779. The price is below its 100 day moving average at $9109. That is now risk for shorts. The 50 day moving average at $8071 is downside target on the daily chart.
IN the US, stocks are getting a boost from FANG/tech today. Earnings for Amazon, Intel, Microsoft will be released after the close:
- S&P is up 16.46 points or 0.62%
- NASDAQ is up 92 points at 1.31%
- Dow is up 142 points or 0.58%
The US yields are lower today:
- 2year 2.483%, -0.4 basis points
- five-year 2.817%, -1.9 basis points
- 10 year 2.99%, -3.6 basis points
- 30 year 3.176%, 3.1 basis points
In the forex market, the JPY and the USD are the strongest, while the CHF and the EUR are the weakest. The EURUSD and the USDCHF trade at extremes as London/European traders look to exit.
