European stocks close mixed but could have been better

UK FTSE makes new intraday all time high but can't close at a record level

The European stocks are ending the day with good gains but off high levels. The UK FTSE reached a new intraday record high price of 7586.45 but dipped into the close and could not set a record close. The index ended the day near unchanged levels but posted the best month of the year with a gain of 4.46%.

  • German Dax up 0.3%. The index is closing at 12615, with a high of 12709 and a low of 12582.
  • France Cac down -0.2%. The high reached 5334.57. The index is closing at 5293.
  • Italy MIB down -0.2%. The index is closing at 20731 with a high at 20937 and a low at 20694
  • Spain Ibex up 0.6%. The index is closing at 10880, with a high at 10957 and a low at 10856.

  • UK FTSE up 4.46%
  • Spain's Ibex up 1.66%
  • German Dax up 1.42%
  • Italy Mib up 0.84%
  • France Cac up 0.5%

For the year (YTD)

  • Spain's Ibex +16.48%
  • German Dax up 9.88%
  • France's Cac up 8.87%
  • Italy Mib 8.04%
  • UK FTSE up 5.35%
