10 year yields lower
The European shares are seeing mixed results but mostly higher. Provisional closings show:
- German DAX, +0.2%
- France's CAC, +0.6%
- UK's FTSE, +0.7%
- Spain's Ibex, -0.2%
- Italy's FTSE MIB, +0.23%
- Portugal PSI 20, up 0.73%
In the benchmark 10 Year Note sector, the yields are lower.
In other markets, as London/European traders look to exit"
- spot gold is up $4 or 0.32% at $1225.25
- WTI crude oil futures are trading up $1.30 or 2.62% at $51.60. Early in the day the price dipped below the $50 level to a low price of $49.41. However chatter that Russia might lower production has led to a rebound.
- Bitcoin on Coinbase is trading up $72 and $4292. The 200 hour moving averages is below at 4090.09. The low for the day tried to dip below that line but found buyers (low reached $4078.
In the US stock market:
- S&P indexes down 10 points or -0.37% at 2734
- NASDAQ is down -28.3 points or -0.39% at 7263
- Dow industrial average is down 78 points or my 0.31% at 25288
The US yields are remain lower on the day with the short end yields more supported but the longer end moving lower.
In the Forex market, the USD is trading mixed, with games against the GBP, CHF and NZD, declines versus the EUR, JPY and AUD and unchanged versus the CAD. The JPY is the stronget of the majors. The GBP is the weakest. The GBPJPY is the biggest mover with a change of 0.49% on the day.
