A softer opening as sentiment remains cautious and tepid

This despite the turnaround we're seeing in Chinese stocks. The Shanghai Composite and CSI 300 indices both close the day at the highs up by 0.64% and 0.78% respectively. Hong Kong's Hang Seng index remains battered though, down by 1.46% currently.
