Take the headline with a pinch of salt. UK lawmakers are still on break until next Monday and meetings between the two parties tend to be scheduled within 24 hours notice. But regardless, the lack of communication and fresh progress thus far isn't going to do the pound much help in the meantime.
GBP/USD sits at 1.2554 currently, down by 0.4% on the day. EUR/GBP holds steady since the early morning at 0.9043 at the moment. GBP/JPY sits lower still at 135.04 currently.
