- National CPI y/y for December, expected 1.1%, prior was 0.6%
- National CPI y/y excluding Fresh Food, expected 09%, prior was 09%
- National CPI excluding Food, Energy y/y, expected %, prior was %
- Tokyo CPI y/y for November, expected 1.1%, prior was 1.0% (Tokyo CPI data is available a month earlier than the National CPI)
- Tokyo CPI excluding Fresh Food y/y, expected 0.8%, prior was 0.8%
- Tokyo CPI excluding Food, Energy y/y, expected 0.4%, prior was 0.4%

2350 GMT - Bank of Japan monetary policy meeting minutes (of the 20/24 December meeting
The meeting was a 'no change' meeting, as they have been for a while now and the Bank's economic assessment was also left unchanged

At 0110 GMT the Bank of Japan will be buying JGBs
- 1 - 3, 3- 5, 10 -25, 25+ year maturities
0130 GMT - China - December Industrial profits
- prior +14.9% y/y
- While this will get some attention, the focus will be on next week's set of PMIs for January
