LUXEMBOURG (MNI) – The growing differences in competitivity among
Eurozone economies puts the stability of the area at risk, European
Central Bank Governing Council member Yves Mersch said Wednesday.
Mersch told audience members at a conference that “the widening
competitiveness gap among Eurogroup states threatens the stability of
all our national economies.”
In his introductory remarks he said the Eurozone is now emerging
“slowly, cautiously…from this state of shock” induced by the financial
crisis.
