Draghi next in speakers corner today

Central bank governors speaking today 26 March 2015

If James Bullard can put the mic down for five minutes we may hear something from other central bank bods today. Here's who's due and when

  • 12.30 gmt ECB's Draghi meets with the Italian lower house speaker. I'm not sure if there will be any comments from him at this time as he will then be presenting to the Lower house finance committee at 13.15 gmt (Remember that he will be on Italian time so is unlikely to be on time ;-) )
  • 13.00 Fed's Lockhart is in Detroit and will probably give us more or less the same as he has the last couple of days
  • 13.30 The arm flapping, pen twiddler from Canada, BOC's Stephen Poloz is over here in Old Blighty to speak to our Chamber of Commerce a press conference is scheduled for after at 14.15
  • 17.00 SNB's Zurbruegg will be speaking at the annual money market reception in Zurich
  • 21.00 Pound watchers might want to tune in to UK tv broadcasts as PM Cameron and his opposite number Ed Miliband face their first big TV interviews ahead of the election. Unfortunately it won't be a head to head as bottle job Cameron doesn't want to do that yet. Cameron will be interviewed first, then Miliband. It will all be on the same show though and is a Sky news/Channel 4 joint venture. If you're trading the pound but unsure of the implications from this then monitor the UK press after the event to see how they gauge it as that could have an effect on the market

Put the kettle on a settle down for a good old political debate....or stick the PS4 on
