DIHK survey shows German firms abroad at most downbeat about outlook since 2015

The Chambers of Industry and Commerce releases their latest survey on German firms operating abroad

  • Only 24% of surveyed German firms operating abroad see better business prospects in the coming 12 months
  • 49% of those surveyed sees prospects unchanged
  • 27% of those surveyed sees a deterioration in business conditions

The main issues should come as no surprise with firms citing trade dispute and protectionism among the reasons for being more pessimistic.

Meanwhile, DIHK slashed its 2019 export growth forecast to just 1.0% after having forecast export growth to grow by 2.5% in the autumn of 2018.
