Senators block second bill
The voting continues but the current tally is 46-41, leaving it at least one vote short of getting the 60 votes needed. (Update: 52-44 was the final vote).
There's talk of an amendment that could keep the government open for three weeks. It will need to flip about five votes.
So far, five Republicans voted to support the plan. Alexander, Collins, Gardner, Isakson, Murkowski and Romney. Cotton and Lee voted against both bills.
