Hires 5.252m vs 5.212m prior
Separations 4.968m vs 5.018m prior
Quits 2.979m vs 3.077m prior
Layoffs 1.635m vs 1.619m prior
Quits have come of the boil from prior months above 3m. This can be a gauge for labour market conditions as people quitting work for other jobs is a sign of tightening in the market.
Much like the jobs market in general, the headline number has shown strength but we've been going sideways for around 2 years now.
