Las Vegas police sheriff now out with a statement 2 Oct
- over 100 injured
- suspect cornered on 32d floor of Mandalay Bay hotel from where had been shooting at random on the crowds below and where he died
- gunman acted alone but police searching for female companion who was travelling with him
- gunman/shooting not believed to be connected to any militant groups
Awful news once again. No mention of terrorism as this time.
The Route 91 country music festival had been taking place since Friday at several hotels on the Las Vegas strip.
