David Davis says Brexit white paper will come out after 28 June EU summit

UK Brexit secretary David Davis speaks to BBC

  • Says he was nowhere near to resigning last week
  • Will always have very robust debates about our strategy on Europe
  • Does not agree that if Trump was negotiating Brexit, there would be more success

Davis was involved in a serious row with UK PM May last week on whether or not to include an end date to the backstop agreement - which was subsequently deemed insufficient by the EU.

There will be a debate at the House of Commons today on the amendment of the Brexit bill before votes are cast once again. Either way, the mess on the domestic front with regards to Brexit is a total separate issue to what agreement they can come to terms with the EU.

They may (eventually) resolve the former, but at this point the latter still seems such a distance away.
