Data due from Japan today

I’ve already highlighted the two speakers from the BOJ today:

  • BOJ board member Kiuchi is giving a speech at 0130GMT – the BOJ will publish it at 0210GMT
  • BOJ governor Kuroda is speaking much later in the day, at 0635GMT

Before those speeches:

  • Exports y/y expected +14.5%, prior +12.2%
  • Imports y/y expected +18.5%, prior +19.6%

This will Japan’s 14th consecutive trade deficit, and given Japan’s increasing reliance on imported energy, they are likely to continue
