Good day everyone
Not a lot overnight to light up the markets but we still have the embargoed BOJ press conference to come which has, lately, offered nothing new but we live in hope.
Main risk event in this session is the 09.30 GMT UK data followed by BOE Governor Mark Carney, along with other MPC members, who will give testimony on the Quarterly Inflation Report to the Treasury Select Committee. Following the QIR hearings, Carney will give testimony on the BOE’s role in the ongoing forex market investigations and is expected to get a bit of a grilling over why it took them so long to act over the accusations of price manipulation, and exactly how much they knew about what was going on.
Before all that we have German trade balance data coming up at 07.00 GMT to kick things off for the session.
And we can expect more than a few traders in London away from their desks for the legendary Cheltenham horse racing festival with a few more around the globe keeping as close an eye on that as their trading screens!
As always I wish you a successful session.
