UK Finance Minister Darling, in a speech ahead of this weekends G20 meet, has said that the developed nations “must act together and not as a small group of advanced economies, but globally with the emerging and developing ecoonmies.”
On the global economy the official said “We need a commitment to boost demand using all levers available to us, including monetary loosening; fiscal stimulus, which has now been widely agreed, but now needs to be implemented; and measures to stabilise the financial system and restore bank lending.” Darling warns that “fiscal stimulus should go hand in hand with cleaning up banks.”
