Consumer sentiment pops in September

The University of Michigan sentiment index rose to 73.5 In September fom 65.7 in August. It was stronger than the 70.3% consensus forecast.

EUR/USD has firmed, with some help from oil which has bounced on a refinery fire in Los Angeles.

Also crossing the wires are comments from Gordon Brown, saying currency imbalances are clearly an important issue. Thanks, Gordo.
