Consolatory comments by the Chinese foreign minister
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is on the newswires saying:
- US has shown goodwill by waving tariffs on Chinese products, so China is willing to buy more US products needed by Chinese markets
- hopes both sides can take more enthusiastic measures, reduce pessimistic language and actions and trade dispute
- if everyone does this, talks will not only resume, but will proceed and yield results
China wants a compromise. US wants all the reforms.
