China's state broadcaster CCTV says China has the confidence to protect its own interests as well as the means to do so
- must counteract tariffs implemented by the United States
The report comes after the US confirmed additional tariffs on China, 25 percent extra in tariffs on $16 billion of Chinese goods from Aug. 23
And China then hit back with additional tariffs of 25 percent on $16 billion worth of US goods (fuel, steel products) late on Wednesday
