Comment from the Editor-in-Chief of China's Global Times
Hu Xijin of the Global Times has had some good insight into China's thinking on the trade war and he is now saying that "based on what I know" China is "seriously considering" restricting rare earth exports to the US. They may also take other countermeasures, he reports.
Yesterday he wrote that:
"More and more Chinese now believe the US wants to sabotage China's economic development, not so-called fair trade with China. Huawei issue has greatly strengthened such an understanding among Chinese. Are we misreading US intentions? The US side should explain it seriously."
