We're a bit past the point of talking at the moment - but it's never too late. Yesterday's retaliatory measures won't go down well with the Trump camp, and there's no way he will back down from targeting China's high tech ambitions later this week.
Something's gotta give eventually, but for now it's pretty much a case of "you poke me, I poke you back".
