Highlights this week:
- The CAD speculative position moved higher and forced another 10K reduction in the short position. The CAD shorts were at nearly -100K in the week of May 23rd. Since that time, the CAD has moved higher (USDCAD lower) and the shorts in the the CAD have been reduced (at a loss). The USDCAD reached the lowest level (higher CAD) since September 2017 today.
- Traders may be losing in the CAD, but they are making money on their long position in the EUR. That currency saw traders get longer by 18K in the current week. The long position is close to the high from a few weeks ago at 79K. The longs this month are the largest long position since May 2011
- The JPY shorts reached the largest since January 2017. Traders are also making money on those positions as the USDJPY trades at the highest level since May 2017 (JPY at the lowest level)..
