Speaks at 1:30 PM ET/1830 GMT
The markets are even more quiet post the exit of London traders. Nevertheless, as a reminder BOE Governor Carney will be speaking at 1;30 PM ET/1830 GMT at the London School of Economics. The topic is "Policy Issues Affecting the Bank of England".

The GBPUSD gapped lower over the weekend (the pair closed at 1.2179 and the low from Friday was at 1.2120). and traded to the lowest level since the flash crash in October. The pair IS higher than the opening levels (opened at 1.1994). The low for the day extended to 1.1986 toward the end of the Asian session. The high reached 1.2084. Looking at the 5- minute chart, the pair is trying to stay above the MA levels intraday, but the bias is still more negative (and is hard to ignore ahead of PM May's speech tomorrow). The pair has corrected to the 38.2% of the move down from Friday's high, and is finding sellers against it so far today.
