Brexit - UK Labour says would stay in single market, customs union for transition period

More weekend Brexit developments, this earlier on softening signs from the European Union:

• UK press: EU could be open to Brexit climbdown over trade talks

And this now from the UK's opposition Labour Party (Labour's Brexit spokesman Keir Starmer speaking on Sunday in the Observer newspaper)

• Says would keep Britain in the European single market and customs union for a transitional period after Brexit
• Would seek to maintain the "same basic terms" with the European Union, including the free movement of people, beyond March 2019 when Britain is set to leave
• Would aim to keep a form of customs union with the EU
