It shouldn't be surprising that Merkel hasn't been taking that strong a tone with us as she knows full well what trade is at risk between the UK and Germany. That's probably going to work to our advantage when it comes to discussions. Remember, what Germany wants, Europe gets ;-)
The ball is in motion as far as divorce proceedings go as the UK has announced who will be heading up the exit unit.
