2% inflation no longer a target.
Here is one that you may have missed last week with all the promising signs of peace between North and South Korea. Last week the Bank of Japan dropped language of trying to reach a 2% inflation target by 2019.
Eamonn reported on it here. He noted that much of the talk was dovish and any hope of an early exit from their easing policy seems woefully premature. The Bank Of Japan may have just got more dovish and dropping their 2% inflation target for 2019 seems like a resignation to stagnant conditions.
