A delegation from the EU is meeting May for dinner in Downing Street
There's going to be some Brexit schmoozing later this evening as May hosts some big wigs from Europe. Jean-Claude Juncker is popping over with a bunch of Brexit negotiators, including the head man Michel Barnier.
Barnier and Davis were said to have scheduled informal talks after the EU leaders summit last week but that was put on ice after May announced the election. Instead, May invited Juncker & Co to London.
We probably won't get anything inflammatory from any comments that come out before or after the dinner but we'll be ready anyway. It's likely we'll get the same old clap-trap about both sides wanting to respect each other and seek the best deal for both. As we know with politics though, what gets said now will be scrutinised and commented on by everyone else.
