BAML cuts US growth forecasts and pushes back taper

Analysts at BAML have lowered their estimate of Q3 growth to 1.7% and Q4 to 2.0% from 2.5% because of the dysfunction in Washington. They think a deal won’t come until very close to the Oct 17 deadline and now think the Fed won’t taper until January.

Their base case is no deal on the continuing resolution or debt ceiling by the end of the week.
